What classes are needed to renew my license?

What identification is required to take a class at the Maritime Campus?

An official government-issued identification is required on the first day of the class along with payment. Examples of a government-issued ID include a passport or driver’s license.

What should I bring to class?

A pen, pencil, and note paper. All other material will be provided.

What are class hours and when should I arrive?

Class hours are Monday through Friday, 0800–1700. You should arrive 30 minutes prior to starting time on the first day of class to allow for the completion of administrative paperwork. During summer months, classes end at 1200 on Fridays. Classes requiring off-site training may have adjusted class hours.

Incredible Engineering Simulation

We have three Kongsberg K-SIM navigation simulators that give trainees a realistic place to learn and practice navigation and bridge operations.

First Class Facilities

Our 45,000 square-foot building opened in 2016 and is on the Houston Ship Channel. It has new simulators, navigation labs, a marine engineering lab, a training pool, large lounge areas, and a dining room.
