Empowerment through Writing
Taylor Arbuckle decided she wanted to be a writer when she was in the fourth grade.
Her experience at San Jac has given her skills and confidence to keep pursuing her
dreams.
[It would be] incredible to be a stay at home author, but I'm not going to put
all of my energy into that just yet. I need to graduate and then who knows what the
world has for me.”

Coming to San Jac, not only did Arbuckle get a chance to hone her skills, but
also the opportunity to be published. In 2020, Arbuckle had six works published in
San Jac’s first college-wide literary magazine, “Accents.” She said getting published
gave her confidence. Arbuckle plans to earn a degree in English and keep working toward
becoming a writer.
