Financial Aid is available for our AEL classes. These classes include:
Workplace English (English as a Second Language - ESL)
Workplace English (ESL) classes help students develop practical English skills. These
skills are useful for daily conversations and in professional environments. These
classes help learners get ready for the workplace, college, and career growth. They
focus on improving reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills needed for jobs.
Earn your high school diploma while completing a college technical program. Build
confidence, expand career options, and create a better future for yourself and your
family.
GED & High School Equivalency Courses
San Jac is a great place to prepare for the GED and other high school equivalency
exams. Through the Adult Education and Literacy program, you can achieve your high
school equivalency at no cost. You may also have your first GED testing attempt covered. To qualify for a GED testing
voucher, you must be21 years of age or older, approved by their instructor, and reside in Texas.
Career Pathways / Integrated Education and Training (IET)
To assist students in developing and improving soft skills, academic skills, and/or
language skills while participating in workforce training. We are currently offering
the following pathways:
We encourage students of all ages and backgrounds to apply for financial aid and grants.
This financial aid is a grant, not a loan, and does not need to be repaid. Awards
are based on financial need and support students enrolled in Adult Education and Literacy
(AEL) programs. AEL courses help adults strengthen foundational skills, earn a high
school diploma or GED, and prepare for careers such as an electrocardiogram technician
(EKG), medical office professional (MOP), patient care technician (PCT), and other
high-demand fields.

Adult Basic Education (ABE) /Adult Secondary Education (ASE) are GED Prep Courses providing instruction based on academic placement test scores.
These courses prepare learners for the high school equivalency (HSE) test, such as
the GED, by teaching essential skills in math, science, language arts, and social
studies.
Internationally Trained Professionals (ITP) is a course for English Language Learners (ELLs) or others who have already completed
a Bachelor's degree or professional credential from another country, and want to learn
about getting a job or more education in the United States.
Career Pathways / Integrated Education and Training (IET) are job training classes in electrocardiogram (EKG) technician, medical office professional
(MOP), patient care technician (PCT) and many other jobs. These IET job training
classes teach essential academic skills while preparing students for success in the
workforce.
Daytime, evening and online classes are offered. For additional grant information, email:
Registration and pre-testing are required before any instruction begins to determine
program eligibility.
Be at least 19 years old to register for class.
If you are 17 or 18, you must be officially withdrawn from public school and have
parental consent.
If you are 16, you must submit a court order requiring GED enrollment and have parental
consent.
Acceptable Documentation:
A valid, unexpired, current government-issued photo ID is required for all participants
at registration (cannot be a limited term driver's license or ID)
VAWA Self-Petitioner - USCIS letter of approval or prima facie determination.
