Your success matters to us, and you’ll be more successful at San Jacinto College when you start in the right classes. San Jacinto College offers and administers the TSI-A exam to determine your college readiness levels in math, reading and writing. Testing does not have to be completed in one day; however you must return within 14 days from the day that you started testing. Test scores will be available upon completion of all test sections. Your test scores will determine if you are ready for college level courses, or if you need a bit more practice with college preparatory courses.
Steps for taking TSI Assessment
Step 1: Complete the Pre-Assessment Activity (PAA) at http://www.sanjac.edu/apply-register/overview/testing/pre-assessment-activity
Step 2: Submit PAA certificate to Admissions (new students), Educational Planning & Counseling (returning students), Dual Credit office (dual credit students) to retrieve a Testing Request Form
Step 4: Take the Testing Request Form to the Test Center with your photo ID to start testing
Step 5: 15 minutes after testing you can see an Educational Planner (returning students) or Dual Credit office (dual credit students) for your test results. For all new students, you will need to sign up for New Student Orientation via your SOS account, 24-48 hours after testing.
